Your Pet Birds

I have a bird named Frieda. She is a really pretty colored parakeet. The only trouble is she is loud and hates people, except my dad. She sits on my finger only because I trained her the most, but she pretty much hates everyone else. Let's say I'm watching a movie and it is at the most suspensful part where they are saying something really important, and all of the sudden, the bird starts chirping really loud so I don't get to hear it!! We used to have another bird, but Frieda....pecked...her to death . Yes that is extreme. Sorry I don't have any pics though .

That's just like my grandma's bird Orvy!!! She will scream at any high pitched noise, and will make laughing noises at the wierdest of times. Like for instance, when I watch a drama on tv or whatever, during all the sad parts she will start laughing. She is green with a black head and a yellow chest. I found the way to make her be quiet a few days ago; if you take a clothespin and take it apart ( 2 wooden pieces and that metal piece ) and stick one wooden piece in the cage, holding on to the other end, she will stand and chew on it. She is really cute when she does this, but not so cute when she tries biting at your hands!!!

Haha, oh birds; They are so funny. I really wanted a parrot before, like a macaw or something, but they are too expensive .......and noisy. Haha

Birds are noisy. Have you tried to put a cloth over the cage? The birds would think it is time to sleep.

My grandparents have done that for the past 20 years and the birds just chew through them!!! One of the parrot goes through 3 towels a month...

Well we put a cloth over her at night, but here's a story why I don't do it when I want her to shut up:

When my mom was in college, she had an apartment with her sister. Her sister bought two parakeets and they had them for a while. The birds were just so loud that my mom kept the cloth on all the time. One day, she took the cloth off because they were being really quiet. One bird was dead with it's eyeballs pecked out and the other one was dead with blood on it's beat (from pecking the other ones eyeballs)....

my birds awesum. its a little green/yellow parakeet. Buts its rly small idk y. its cage is by my chair in the living room and i open the cage and it flies onto my shoulder, or my finger if i give it the option. It sits there and will chirp to me forevr. and she knows how to get out, she sometimes lifts open the little lift gate by the water and food containers. she like my favorite pet

She sounds like a really sweet bird Connor!!!

any time im home and inside shes on my shoulder. and shes smart. i give her these little bird treat things and wen she wants 1 she flies into the kitchen and lands rite by it

That's funny!! Does she know any other tricks?

uhh if i say "cage" she knows to go bak in. and simple commands like tht. she knows if i go like "shhh" to b quiet, and if i say"chirp' she starts talkin. and she can say a few words. but thts really it

Ha ha, that's way more than what my bird can do!!

I used to have some birds, I forgot what species are they, but I only remembered that my birds flew away from their cage..

I had a pair of zebra finches and a pair of Orange Weaverbirds. The weaverbirds were quite skittish but very pretty. In both cases, the females killed the males and the males were always my favorites!!!

I trained Zelda (the female zebra finch) to sit on my finger but she died a week later cause she got sick

I used go have a pair of cockatiels, however a few years ago they escaped when they managed to knaw through the cage wires!
Then they jus flew off through the window before I could get to them....sniff...i miss them

That is sad! Something similar happened to my mom before I was born. She hung the cage with a pair of each-faced lovebirds in it and the cat jumped up at it, knocked it down, and then they flew away never to be seen again.

I had one when i was six yeasr old (now i'm 18), I got him on crhistmas but he died on the very next first of january,

I had a parakeet, her/his (?) name was Twitter.. It died..

I have a pet parrotlet, i like just got it so i dont have any pictures but its a greenish yellowish female and it allows me to slowly pet its neck, and i might be getting a white bellied caique that can do the kissy noise
