Your Pet Fish

Talk about your pet fish here.

Fish have mostly been so boring to me until these past few days! I have 5 fish in the backyard, and 2 in a bowl in the house. I don't name them, but the big one, we got him when he was tiny and now he's HUGE!! Hahaha . Anyway, I really want to go buy a lot of fish at the pet store, and take really good care of them and then release them in the lake and hopefully create a whole colony of fishies!! More people would come to the lake and take better care of it because they like to see fishies . It might be fun

What kind of fish do you have in your backyard?

Just regular goldfish, but I want to get a big koi. They're really expensive though .

Those are big!!!! Compared to the ones given out at the city fair here, they are monster!!!!!

The funny thing is, I got them at a fair when they were about this long: ________!!

I had one when I was 7, It's name was Fishy McFisherfin.

It died, my dad flushed it, then I went in to a fit. Typical stuff.

and i have one of those sucker fishes bout half of the size of the gold fish. we got them at petco and they dont sell fish that big so we adopted them from there and only had to give a donation of 10$ that was really cool i thought. its huge compared to are 75 gallon tank and we are getting more fish 2morrow.

OMG!!!! THAT THING IS GIANT!!!!! I really want a big fish :P

gee,, I used to have 3 parrot fish,,

but,, 2 of them had died,, poor fish


now, only 1 left,,

it's big,, yellow,, and strong now...

I think it's lonely..

sounds like a carp to me a fish that was originally bred into todays goldfish...i had one that wieghed 3 pounds...i had caught it in a trashy lake and brung it home along with some turtles now they are huge!

i gotta 50 gallon tank. i got a bunch of fish in there tht all get along. but the ruler of the tank is this monster catfish that i got when it was like 3 inches now its like 9 or 10 inches

my friend has got a disbale fish. it has only one eye she called it * darling* x

I have 2 2 year old cloudfish. I used to have a beta fish that followed my finger everytime i put it near the tank but it died. He lived for 2 and a half years.

I always loved marien criatures, I had about 10 fishs since I was a little kid. there's one that I specially liked, here we call it "beta",it is that asian colourful fish that fights alot

Is it a Siamese Fighting Fish? I have a Siamese Fighter, his name is Alpha. He loves lieing down and swimming upside down and doing weird things. He isnt dieing because ive had him for over a year now, and he has his own special hole under a (faux) coral reef. He's blue with one red fin and he isnt at all agressive. We have a mirror on two sides of our tank and he used to attack it, but not he's all ok now and he only falls for the real deal. He is still young, apparently, and still need to mature for breeding, but I probably WON'T breed him since my ma and pa had a Siamese Fighter and ended up with three tanks (Approx. 10 years before my birth).

I feel like I'm probably just going to be talking to the air here but oh well. Does anyone else here have glofish? We just got some new ones, black tetras with the red and blue genes. They are amazing. Also have a few of the modified danios but the tank has mostly become tetras. Then there's the odd men out in the tank which would be regular neon tetras which school at the bottom of the tank.

On to other fish. I'm curious if anyone who still comes here and reads posts raises Endlers. We have two tanks of them but neither seems to be taking off very well and we've actually had one failed tank. Just curious if anyone might have any hints or tips. Also in the tank with them are shrimp and albino, bristle-nosed plecos. In other tanks we have similar set ups just with common guppies and Japan Blue guppies which are doing very well.
