Re: Your Pet Hamsters
My friend Haley had a hamster and he pooped....everywhere. I don't like hamsters, they bite. Guinea pigs are much better

Re: Your Pet Hamsters
Yup, i'm not really into hamsters. My mom, aunt, and uncle all had one, but it bit my mom and grandma so hard that they started bleeding. You're right, guinea pigs are better!!!

Re: Your Pet Hamsters
We used to have a hamster when I saw really little, so I don't remember. My dad and brother saw some kids with a bucket filled with hamsters and they were just walking around selling them. It was kind of sad because the hamsters at the bottom of the bucket were probably suffocating ! They got a quite big one and named him Alfred. One night he climbed down a drain under the bathtub and never came back....My brother used to say that he went to Arizona to find a girlfriend. Hahahahha!!

Re: Your Pet Hamsters
But we do know what happened to him....He got killed by wild rats . My parents were looking down the drain, and they heard a really big squeak, and then a smaller squeak, and some rustling, and then no more squeaking .

I'm sorry, that must have been pretty hard to listen to your pet die.

Re: Your Pet Hamsters
Yeah but I was afraid of him anyway, haha. I heard and saw my friends guinea pig die. I was taking care of her guinea pig, Cali, while she was in Tahoe. One night, I woke up because Cali just started squeaking REALLY loud like something was really wrong. I got up and held her, and she seemed a little shocked, so I covered her cage with a blanket and went back to bed. The next day, she couldn't walk and whenever she did, she would go in a circle really slowly and hit her head on things. She just layed in a corner of her cage. I was petting her and then she looked up at me and then looked down, and I knew she was gone. I felt so bad because I felt like I killed my friends pet!! It was all so tramatizing . I think (strongly believe) that she had a stroke because she was all wobbly and maybe lost a little vision, but I can't imagine why that would happen!!
But just a couple weeks after, Jordan (my friend) got two new baby guinea pigs that are the sweetest things!! I am really kind of afraid to take care of someones pet now .

Re: Your Pet Hamsters
That's really sad, but it's not your fault he passed away. I understand how traumatic it is to watch a pet go in your hands, and it's ok not to want to watch someone else's pet. I think he was just old, and the stroke he may have suffered could have been from old age. At least he's in a peaceful place right now!!!

Re: Your Pet Hamsters
Psst, Cali is a girl . Haha. She was only about 3 or 4, but my guinea pig passed when she was 4 too, so yeah. They burried her in the garden and put a cheerios box on her grave because she loved cheerios!!

Whenever I was at her house, we would get cheerios and we would toss them and Cali could catch them!!! It was so awesome. I loved that guinea pig

Re: Your Pet Hamsters
Haha, yeah I was dying for a bunny, but now I kind of regret it, even though I love my baby!! I can't imagine where my little Juneau would be right now if I didn't come along. And I almost got a different bunny!! If it wasn't for my dad, I would have had a big fluffy lop-eared lazy boy . Juneau is such a trouble maker. I remember when I saw her at the store the week before, and I said, "Mom, look at that one, it has spots down it's back!!" And I never imagined she would be mine .

Re: Your Pet Hamsters
This is my hamster Sneakers, when I put him in my mom's Christmas village back in December. Surprisingly he doesn't bite.
How he got his name is an interesting little story.
Our old hamster Humu had died just a week or so before (we only had him for 6 weeks) and we went to a pet store about 20 minutes away from where we live. My mom and I walked into the small pets area and saw Sneakers, who looked very similar to Humu (only difference is that his fur is slightly darker and much longer). When an employee took him out for us to hold him, he happily came out and didn't bite any of us, in fact he was very friendly and didn't want to go back into his cage. We decided to buy him.
Fast forward to about 10 minutes into the drive home, when we were on the highway. I was holding the box Sneakers (who hadn't been named yet) was in and felt fur at a corner of the box. I looked and found that he had chewed a hole through a corner of the box that was big enough for him to stick his head out! I told my parents and covered the hole with my hand, and by the time I gave the box to my mom he had chewed another hole! By that time we were off the highway, so we pulled over and put him in a bigger box that was in the trunk for the 5 minutes left in the drive. When we got home he had chewed a hole, but not big enough for him to stick his head through. We decided to let him run around the couch with me laying there to block him from going off the couch, and my sister had left one of her shoes on said couch. He quickly ran into the shoe. So we named him sneakers because he likes shoes and he's very sneaky
