Grassland Nature Reserve Empty Grassland Nature Reserve

    Post by Guest August 30th 2008, 17:40

Hello and welcome to the Grassland Nature Reserve! Here we rehabilitate and release animals into the reserve. We have a big plot of land where we currently have some animals!
This is our American Bison Herd. There are two females and two males:
    Grassland Nature Reserve BisonHerd
We also have some foxes (I don't know what to call a group of foxes Wink). There is one male and two females:
    Grassland Nature Reserve FoxPack
We also have two vet buildings that are built on the reserve:
    Grassland Nature Reserve VetBuildings
They are the same inside, so I only have pictures of one. This is one of the pens where sick animals are held:
    Grassland Nature Reserve Pen2
This pen is for the animals that are healing:
    Grassland Nature Reserve Pen
The pen for the healing animals has an outside area so that they can calm down and rest outside.
We hope that we will have some new babies soon! I am only excepting animals that I ask for or need. If you have an injured animal, there is a big chance that I will take it though Wink. Thanks for visiting!!

I found a shetland pony by the road today. She has a broken leg and is in great pain. I can't take her because I have no room. Can you take her? Her name is Star and she had a foal but it was dead beside her sadly Sad But can you take her? We took some of the foals DNA and it matched one of our males. The males name is Starfire and he was sadly killed by another zoo. Crying or Very sad He had been my first horse there.

Sorry Xania, this is a nature reserve so I don't take in domestic animals. Try finding her a home at a farm sanctuary or something. Also, mallardman, don't spam.

Well I also found with her a young American Bison. She has been hit by a train and lived!!! I could barely believe it but I saw it with my own eyes! But she needs urgent medical attention which I can't provide. Can you take her? Please answer quick or she may die!

Of course I can take her! She will stay in the vet building until she recovers and we may be able to introduce her into the herd. Smile

I will take the strange looking foxes and hopefully our vets will determine their breed!
Here is the female bison. She had a big gash on her stomach that was patched and stitched and now she is recovering well. Before we place her in with the herd, we put her in the recovering pen closest to the door, so she can get used to the members of the herd :

Bison 1 is pregnant! We doing our rounds feeding the animals when we noticed her acting weird. The vets took a look and she is going to have a baby!!
    Grassland Nature Reserve Americanbison2
This is her mate, the gorgeous golden brown colored giant Razz:
    Grassland Nature Reserve Americanbison4
Here are the foxes! They are being held in the vet building to make sure they are not sick or injured.
Their breed is very rare and there are about 600 left in the wild!! They are called White-Tipped Foxes for their tails Wink. The female is being kept alone, because we don't want any breeding Very Happy:

These are the two males checking out their surroundings:

Thanks for visiting!! We will have more updates soon. Very Happy

Update time!! We have a lot going on right now, so I'm kind of stressed out, but I'm excited too!
Today we introduced the female bison that got hit by a train into the herd! She settled in nicely to the outsiders group (These are the bison that got kicked out by the alpha bisons)
    Grassland Nature Reserve SettlingIn
We set up the Whitetip Fox area and hope that they will do well!
    Grassland Nature Reserve WhitetipArea
We released all three foxes into their area. Here is the female settling in nicely!
    Grassland Nature Reserve Settlingin2
Meanwhile, while all this is happening, our female red fox got pregnant! This was a huge surprise and we were all excited. Later that day, because of the dominance formed in the pack, the pregnant female killed the other female Sad.
    Grassland Nature Reserve Pregnantfoxxie
We were very surprised one morning when the red fox gave birth to 5 kits!!! They are all doing well and their genders are not known yet.
    Grassland Nature Reserve Babies
Our dominant female bison has given birth to a female calf! She is beautiful and healthy and will do well in the reserve. The other female bison is also pregnant and we are patiently awaiting her baby!
    Grassland Nature Reserve BabyBison
We do have a problem though. The outsider male is being bullied by the dominant male and he is not allowing him to get to the supply of food and water! We are putting him up for adoption so he can go to a good home where he can thrive. He is very healthy, but a little undernourished. We are going to keep him in the vet building until he finds a home.
    Grassland Nature Reserve Maleadoption
That's all for now! I hope that the whitetips breed soon so that we can see their adorable kits!

    Update time!!
Our second female Bison gave birth to a beautiful and healthy female calf. Since our population of bison is getting rather large, she might be up for adoption when she is older Razz.
    Grassland Nature Reserve BabyBison2
Our female bison that got hit by a train is now pregnant! She is fully recovered and has her own place in the herd now!
    Grassland Nature Reserve PregnantBison
Our whitetip female was discovered pregnant a few days ago and gave birth to one female kit. She is not up for adoption and will stay in the reserve Wink.
    Grassland Nature Reserve WarrahKit
Remember these little foxies? Well there are 5 young ones up for adoption. Not all of them need to be adopted, but a few would be nice Very Happy
Grassland Nature Reserve Foxxie Their genders are unknown now because the mother is too protective to let us check them out. Smile

That's it for now, we will have more soon!
