Horse Stable Help
I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I just made a really cool horse stable in my game and I obviously wasn't thinking. I was going to use the Arabian Horse for the stables, but I totally forgot about the whole space thing. They each have their own small stalls, but they always need more space. I have a pasture that I let them go into every once in a while, but only like once every couple days. I have a space hack, but it doesn't work with downloaded animals, so that doesn't work. If anyone has any suggestions, please help me! ^_^

Re: Horse Stable Help
I can't think of anything, but what I do is make a nice kinda big field (with a fence of course so the horses don't get out!) and let them be able to walk inside their stall from the field so it's not fenced off where the stalls are and there's one open place for them to go in. In the stall I put some food and water so they go in and out. When I get ZT2 installed again (on Sunday) I can show you some pics.

Re: Horse Stable Help
Yeah that's what I usually do, but all the horses go in the wrong stalls and stuff all the time. I want it to be a little more organized and more professional than my small farms. Does anyone know of a space hack that also affects downloaded animals? I found that some of my horses that I downloaded don't care about the space, but I really wanted to use the Arabian .

Re: Horse Stable Help
Don't enclose the whole enclosure. Make a two tile space in the wall, then place a tundra rock-or shelter-in the space. If you use a Tundra rock don't forget to patch up the tundra with the animal's biome!

Re: Horse Stable Help
great idea!!
I oughta try it.
I had 2 horses (one died of cancer, another story) and I had a stable with 2 stalls on it, and the horses didnt really care whos was whos, so it is still realistic to let them pick their stalls!

Re: Horse Stable Help
I am not really sure if they have cheats, that's why I made this section in the forum, so I could see if there were any!!!!

Re: Horse Stable Help
I'm one of those people that are afraid that they would mess up the computer if they installed hacks, so i deal with the whole space thing by making a stable, but leaving 1 space open and putting a mangrove tree. The animals never escape!

Re: Horse Stable Help
well if you included a stable/house thing then if youve fenced around that delete the fencing behind the shelter and then they wont moan about space and they cant escate from their stall's

Re: Horse Stable Help
I would love to help but I have never made a stable before. I don't have any horses so i don't think I could. I have made a sort stable with Pandas before. I would pair them up in a 10 by 10 square. When the baby was born I would move the male to another exhibit sense it could not hold all three. Then i would move the dad back when it was grown up and then move the baby with it's mate or so it can wait for it's mate.
It worked quite well.
It worked quite well.

Re: Horse Stable Help
Here is how to do it.
1. Download winzip
2.Open your download with winzip (open with/ winzip)
3.in there, go to entities, units, animals, ai, and you should see youranimal.xml
4. open with notepad (drag file to desktop, then edit
5. find where it talks about space, then edit the amount of space it needs, there will be 2 places to edit this.
6. sove as the EXACT same thing, and drag back to winzip, hit replace, DONE!

Re: Horse Stable Help
Having owned horses in the past, + having worked at a stable, + breeding farm back when I was much younger, I would suggest you give them each their own paddock area. They can mingle over the fence between them, but they can't get in the wrong stall, because they only have access to their own paddock. You build your barn with space enough to have at least 1 sq. wide leading to each horses stall, leading out to a wider paddock, like they have for dogs in a kennel, an indoor stall, with an outdoor run, only on a larger scale for horses.
